Instructional Design UDL Resources

Designing flexible, inclusive learning experiences for all learners

Why UDL Matters

This page was created to share resources that support the intentional use of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in instructional design. Through an interactive infographic, designers can explore tools, frameworks, and strategies that help create more accessible, flexible, and user-centered learning experiences.

My goal in including this page is twofold. First, it serves as a way to support others in the field by sharing practical resources, an approach grounded in networking through generosity. Second, it provides insight into my design philosophy by demonstrating how I apply UDL principles in both my thinking and my work.

At its core, this page reflects my belief that when we design with accessibility in mind from the beginning, we not only remove barriers but improve the learning experience for everyone. At the same time, designing accessible experiences and meaningfully applying UDL principles is an ongoing journey of learning, reflection, and growth. It requires openness to evolving technologies, changing societal needs, and the many different ways people experience and interact with the world.

Because accessibility and inclusion are not static, I believe this work also requires a level of grace, flexibility, and humility. No design will ever perfectly meet every need, but thoughtful, intentional design can continue to evolve through listening, learning, feedback, and continued effort. This page reflects both my commitment to that process and my belief that accessibility is something we continuously strive toward together.
